Hi, I'm Malana.

Once upon a time, I felt trapped.

My dreams were big, but I felt sick, sad, and small.

Then one year, I learned how to free myself, and everything changed.

Today, I am A Woman Uncaged.

You can be, too.

The name A Woman Uncaged was inspired by my journey of freeing myself from the people, environments, foods, habits, substances, and beliefs that were holding me back from living as my true self.

At the start of my healing journey, I was a decade-long weed addict, harboring repressed memories of sexual abuse, suffering from symptoms of complex post-traumatic stress disorder, and in a psychologically abusive marriage.

It was through finding support, getting sober, and healing my mind, body, and spirit that I was finally able to see the invisible bars I'd been living behind and that I held the key within myself to open the door and leave.

And so I did!

Over time, I began sharing openly about my experiences on social media and podcasts – both the high points and the challenges – and I learned that using my voice and sharing my journey was helping not just myself, but other women, too.

Today, I now guide other women through healing their mind, body, and spirit so that they, too, can uncover who they are and live as the women they were born to become.

"I learned so much from Malana. She is very gentle, compassionate and caring, it’s like having an earth angel to help you thru the uncertainty of life, an empathetic friend to hold your hand, when you need it. That is priceless in today’s world." - G

More About Me

  • I was born and raised on Long Island, New York and have lived all throughout the state and the East Coast – from Maine, to North Carolina, to Florida – until leaving for the Pacific Coast in early 2023 to begin a new life path in Hawaii.

  • I turned to Jesus at age 32, which was the best decision I ever made. To my excitement and relief, I learned that his teachings and message of unconditional love can be applied without the confines of religion and the many mistruths and distortions within the Bible (misogyny, homophobia, etc.). I learn about his teachings through my personal teacher/shaman/life coach, Liana Shanti.

  • I changed my name as part of my spiritual path, to release my past and honor my fresh start in life. Malana Hokulani means 'Light of the Divine Heavenly Star.'
